When it comes to choosing a carburetor, there are lots of things to consider: airflow, choke style, and secondary type, to name a few.

But what about the physical height of the carburetor?

The main reason carburetor height is important is hood clearance, especially on certain applications such as Corvettes, and big block Chevelles and Camaros. Most air cleaners and intake manifolds are listed with heights, but carburetor heights can be a bit of a mystery. Listed below are the heights of some of the most popular carbs available at Summit Racing.

As noted in the above image, the measurement is taken from the base plate to the top of the carb where the air cleaner sits and does NOT include any base or air cleaner gasket thickness. Use the chart below to ensure proper fitment under your hood.
