A father-son budget build on a 1967 Ford Ranchero for his first car kicked off a lifelong passion with building, modifying, and driving custom cars for Christopher Campbell. He has previously been a staff writer for HOT ROD Magazine and Popular Hot Rodding magazine and has contributed to many other automotive publications.

These days he focuses on creating tech content for OnAllCylinders while juggling too many hobbies and too many never-ending muscle car, track car, and off-road vehicle projects, including that ’67 Ranchero.

Aaron Dolezal

Brian Nutter

After a stint in the U.S. Air Force, Brian Nutter studied at the Houston, TX-based School of Automotive Machinists in 1997. The early part of his automotive career included working for engine builders Scott Shafiroff and C.J. Batten, followed by several years developing performance pistons at Wiseco Piston Co.

Today, Brian develops performance parts for Summit Racing Equipment and is a regular OnAllCylinders contributor. For fun, he runs his 427-powered C5 Z06 in ECTA land-speed racing, at OPTIMA® street car events, and at a mix of autocross, drag racing, and track days.

Alan Rebescher

Editor, author, PR man—Alan Rebescher has done it all in a 37 year career in the high performance industry. He has written and photographed many feature stories and tech articles for Summit Racing and various magazines including Hot Rod, Car Craft, and Popular Hot Rodding, and edited Summit Racing’s Street & Strip magazine in the 1990s.

His garage is currently occupied by a a 1996 Mustang GT ragtop.

Paul Sakalas

Paul grew up working on his family’s fleet of Chevys but soon gravitated towards two wheels as a teenager. He joined Summit Racing over a decade ago after a long stint in the broadcast industry. Nowadays, Paul serves as the Editor of OnAllCylinders and Producer of The OnAllCylinders Podcast, where he offers insights on general automotive tech, vehicle restoration, off-roading, motorcycles, electronics, and 1980s sitcoms.

Outside of the garage, Paul’s basement workshop is littered with well-used camping gear, old arcade games, Ham radios, vintage Hi-Fi amplifiers, poorly-tuned guitars, and whatever toys his three children have broken in the past week.

A vital part of Summit Racing’s marketing team, Will is also a contributing writer for OnAllCylinders. His automotive writing career stretches back longer than a decade and includes a stint as senior reporter for one of the tire industry’s largest trade publications. He enjoys long walks on the beach, romantic candlelit dinners, and thinly veiled sarcasm.

Will lives with his beautiful wife and two small humans who steal his food and “need” more LEGOs.

Jim Smart

Jim Smart is a veteran journalist, feature writer, technical editor, and historian with more than 40 years of experience. Smart is also a freelance automotive writer and historian for several automotive magazines including Mustang Monthly as well as a number of special interest automotive publications. Jim was hired as a feature editor at Car Craft Magazine, Muscle Car Classics, and Chevy High Performance, and has served as editor and senior editor of Hot Rod’s Mustang & Fords.

In more recent years, Smart has written a number of automotive technical books for CarTech Books, with a couple of self-published Mustang history books. Also more recently, Smart has been back on staff at the MotorTrend Group as a feature editor at Vette, Chevy High Performance, Super Chevy, and Classic Truck.

These days, Jim is a semi-retired contributing editor at Mustang Hub Magazine as well as Chevy Hub. He continues to write books for CarTech Books. When he isn’t writing for OnAllCylinders, he is involved in classic car restoration projects.

Evan is the former editor of Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords magazine/Mustang-360.com and regularly competes in drag racing and open track road race events. A diehard Blue Oval guy, Evan is also a factory test driver for The Ford Motor Company.

Jeff Smith

Jeff Smith has had a passion for cars since he began working at his grandfather’s gas station at the age 10. After graduating from Iowa State University with a journalism degree in 1978, he combined his two passions: cars and writing. Smith began writing for Car Craft magazine in 1979 and became editor in 1984. In 1987, he assumed the role of editor for Hot Rod magazine before returning to his first love of writing technical stories.

Since 2003, Jeff has held various positions at Car Craft (including editor), has written books on small block Chevy performance, and even cultivated an impressive collection of 1965 and 1966 Chevelles. Now he serves as a regular contributor to OnAllCylinders

Wayne Scraba

Wayne opened his first speed shop almost fifty years ago. When he closed the second (and last) one, he eventually went to work for the late great Super Stock & Drag Illustrated. He went on to Edit Musclecars magazine, write for Bracket Racing USA and eventually toiled for the NHRA’s National DRAGSTER. 

On the Corvette side of the equation, he edited the National Corvette Restorers Society Restorer magazine. In between he freelanced (a lot!) to what seemed like just about every magazine on the newsstand (automotive, motorcycle and even a few aviation titles) and authored five automotive books. Today, he writes for OnAllCylinders and spends most of his spare time in his home garage.

Scott Swisher

Scott was born an automotive enthusiast and never looked back. He’s had many automotive adventures, from racing to car building—in particularly fond of his modified Chevy HHR SS that was capable of hitting 163 mph.

In addition to maintaining a 1985 Pontiac Fiero he’s owned since new, Scott has a C5 Corvette convertible that’s currently undergoing a series of upgrades and a Porsche 911 that’s receiving a mild restoration.
