In today’s video, Pete Nichols from Hughes Performance introduces us to the company’s Pro Series torque converter dump valve kits and explains how they can provide competitive performance gains in drag racing applications.
In the video, Nichols details how the dump valves work, and how they can provide an edge for racers.
Nichols talks about staging a race car, and how the addition of dump valve kits can improve torque converter performance by dumping converter oil to improve stall speed, as well as generating less forward thrust motion against the engine’s thrust bearing which helps to extend bearing and engine life (particularly on LS engines and Ford modular engines where thrust bearings are known to be sensitive).
