Q: My Camaro has a 350 small block Chevy engine, Turbo 400 transmission, and a 12-bolt rear end. I’ve purchased many parts over the years, including Dart Sportsman II cylinder heads and Hooker Super Comp ceramic headers. Now that I’m assembling the car, I’ve discovered the ports on the head don’t match the headers!

Is there a gasket or adapter that will make this work, or do I need new headers? I’d like to know before I drop the engine in.

A: The Mailbag answer to your problem is a different set of headers. Specifically, you’ll want a set of Hedman’s Hustler headers, available either painted or ceramic-coated.

These will match those heads nicely, however our notes say that they may not fit with Saginaw close-ratio power steering with an 825 power steering box.
