Video: How to Install KONI Strut Inserts

In this video, KONI’s Lee Grimes will show you how to properly install KONI strut insert performance dampers made to fit inside your factory OEM strut housing, for when a complete KONI strut isn’t available for your particular application.

You can watch the nearly six-minute video here, which will take you step by step through the installation process:

A variety of tools are needed for the job, including:

  • Hammer
  • Center punch
  • Drill
  • 1/8″ (or 3mm) drill bit
  • 1/2″ (or 12-13mm) drill bit
  • Tape
  • Round file (under 1/2″)
  • Small flat file
  • Hacksaw
  • Bench vise
  • Marking pen
  • Tape measure
  • 5/16″ hex key
  • Oil receptacle
  • Thread locker
  • Paper towels
  • Gloves
  • Safety glasses
