In this Summit Racing Quick Flicks video, you will learn the basic differences between shocks and struts.

Struts are similar to shocks in that they dampen road vibrations; however, they are a structural part of your vehicle’s suspension. A shock requires a upper and lower control arm to hold the front wheel hub. A strut has a lower control arm and attaches to the hub assembly to provide structural support as well as vibration dampening.
