When Ford unleashed its sixth-generation Bronco a few years back, it quickly became one of the hottest new vehicles in the gearhead universe—and we knew it was only a matter of time before the gang at Summit Racing got their hands on one.

And now, that time has come.

For its Ford Bronco build series, the Summit Racing folks are taking a stock 2022 Bronco and giving it some key upgrades to make it an even more versatile off-roader—and it’s staying street legal. Better yet, they’re doing it as an homage to the Mexican 1,000-winning 1969 Bronco driven by legendary racer Rod Hall.

After addressing some critical trail protection in Episode 3, the focus (pun intended!) now shifts to lighting. And in keeping with the retro vibe of the build, the Summit Racing team picked lights that blend modern LED lighting technology and performance with a cool throwback look reminiscent of the lights on Rod Hall’s original truck. A set of KC HiLiTES LED SlimLites fit the bill perfectly, and they worked great with light mounting brackets from ZROADZ. The Baja Bronco also benefits from Hella Black Magic Lights fore and aft.

The best part of this install? With aftermarket upgrades like this in mind, Ford has wires already run into the Bronco’s cabin, making it really, really easy to add switches and electrical accessories like these off-road lights. Thanks Ford!
