The latest Summit Racing project is a Ram 2500 Heavy Duty pickup truck equipped with a Cummins 6.7L diesel engine.

But unlike a lot of project builds, the Summit Racing team didn’t start with a showroom-fresh vehicle here. Nope, this 2018 Ram 2500 is already a long haul, high mileage workhorse, with plenty of snow, rain, and dirt under its tires.

So the goal of this series is to show you how a few upgrades, some vital maintenance, and a little bit of elbow grease on a road-weary rig can be a smart alternative to buying an all new truck—and much easier on the wallet too.

In the second installment of the Ram Revamp series, you saw the Summit Racing team bolt up an airbag suspension system on the 2018 Ram 2500 truck. But the air suspension itself is only part of the story, you’ll need a good airbag system controller to make it all work.

The team went with an Air Lift Dual Paddle Switch Controller to match the Air Lift airbags installed in that earlier episode. The controller will allow the Ram’s driver to adjust the driver side and passenger side airbags separately, for excellent control over the truck’s handling—regardless of what’s in the bed or hooked up to the hitch.
