Cincinnati, Ohio – From bespoke prewar luxury coupes to retired race cars, concours events allow you to see some of the rarest and most exotic vehicles on the planet. And since the annual Cincinnati Concours d’Elegance occurs near the OnAllCylinders southwest Ohio field office, it’s always circled on our event calendar.

Though heavy, intermittent rain meant that many of the uber-rare cars remained covered during the show, it didn’t dampen the spirits of those in attendance. In fact, there was a heightened sense of comradery as folks gathered under awnings and trees, avoiding the rain while chatting about the must-see vehicles on display.

Here’s just a quick glimpse of what we saw.

Porsche was this year’s featured marque, so this 1964 356 Cabriolet was only the beginning. (Image/OnAllCylinders)
But America was represented well too; this 1969 Chevy Kingswood wagon was a delightful juxtaposition against the European exotics. (Image/OnAllCylinders)
Packard also received special attention, as evidenced with this jaw-dropping Twin Six. (Image/OnAllCylinders)
Since Porsche was so well represented, it was no surprise to see a tidy 914 on display. (Image/OnAllCylinders)
From the rear, it’s easy to tell how this 1928 Auburn earned the name “Boat Tail” Speedster. (Image/OnAllCylinders)
If you appreciate meticulously restored prewar cars like this 1935 Ford Tudor, you’re going to like concours events. (Image/OnAllCylinders)
Ultra-compact Japanese Kei cars are always neat to see in person. This one’s a 1960 Mazda K360 powered by a 0.3L V-twin engine making 11 horsepower. (Image/OnAllCylinders)
One of the more unique cars on display was this streamlined 1938 T-97 from Czech manufacturer Tatra. Only around 500 were made between 1936-39 and it was powered by a 1,759cc air-cooled four making about 40 horsepower. (Image/OnAllCylinders)
In the United States, the precursor to the legendary KZ900 was the 1975 Kawasaki 900 Z1B. (Image/OnAllCylinders)
1971 marked the last of the hand-built Mercedes coupes. (Image/OnAllCylinders)
This is a 1936 Auburn 852 “Phaeton,” which derives its name from the horse-drawn carriage days, much like Brougham. (Image/OnAllCylinders)
Italy, Germany, Britain, the Czech Republic were represented. France joined the party too, with this 1991 Peugeot 205 CTI cabriolet. (Image/OnAllCylinders)
This is a “Barn Find” 1955 Siata 300 BC coupe—and it’s 1 of only 50 built. (Image/OnAllCylinders)

After speaking with its caretaker, we learned that this is a very, very early production Camaro Z/28 that pre-dated the use of the Z/28 badging. (Image/OnAllCylinders)
We will never not photograph a clean Opel GT. (Image/OnAllCylinders)
This is a 1969 Porsche 912, which was a “budget” Porsche that used the 911’s body and chassis, but carried the smaller four cylinder engine plucked from the outgoing Porsche 356. And that paint? *Chef’s Kiss* (Image/OnAllCylinder)
The owner of this British 1920 Douglas W-20 motorcycle was nice enough to uncover and fire-up the motorcycle’s working(!) acetylene(!!) headlight and taillight for us. (Image/OnAllCylinders)
Yup, that’s a 1990 ZR-1. (Image/OnAllCylinders)
If you’re wondering why a farm tractor showed up to a concours event, take a look at the name on the cowl. (Image/OnAllCylinders)
Don’t let its vintage silhouette fool you—this is a 1991 Nissan Figaro, one of a handful of retro-inspired limited production cars made by Nissan in the early 1990s. (Image/OnAllCylinders)
Unlike the Figaro above, don’t call this 1991 Plus 4 “retro,” because Morgan’s been doing the elbow-dragging roadster thing for over a century now. (Image/OnAllCylinders)
Here’s a good look at an early 1969 Porsche 911 Targa soft top. (Image/OnAllCylinders)
Our first official C8 Z06 sighting. (Image/OnAllCylinders)
Here’s a super-rare Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution, a model prepped by the company’s Ralliart performance division to tackle the grueling Paris-Dakar Rally. (Image/OnAllCylinders)
Perhaps one of the oldest cars at the event, this 1911 EMF Model 30 racer laughed off the rain. (Image/OnAllCylinders)
Conversely, this 2012 Aston Martin V12 Vantage was one of the newer exotics on display. (Image/OnAllCylinders)
Caterham purchased the rights to produce the legendary Lotus 7 in the early 1970s and has since perfected the featherweight sports car with the Caterham 7, weighing in at just over 1,200 pounds. (Image/OnAllCylinders)
Before there was a Ferrari Dino, there was this 1970 Fiat Dino coupe. (Image/OnAllCylinders)
This 1958 Dodge D100 Sweptside pickup was one of the few trucks at the event. (Image/OnAllCylinders)
We dug the rear-mount spare on this 1966 Vespa Sprint 150. (Image/OnAllCylinders)
