98.

That’s the win number Greg Anderson has been chasing since his Pro Stock debut over two decades ago. That number would give him the record for Pro Stock NHRA wins—edging past his friend and former teammate Warren Johnson, another NHRA Legend. In the finals, Chris McGaha ripped off a 6.669-second, 206.51 mph pass. But it was a 6.624/206.32 effort that allowed Anderson to race into the history books.

Congratulations to Greg and the entire KB Racing team on this historic achievement!

Compared to his 2020 Rookie of the Year effort, this year’s been a bit tougher for Justin Ashely—with two final round losses earlier this season. But paired up against a dominant Steve Torrence in the finals this past weekend, Ashley nailed a 0.035-second reaction time on his way to a 3.759-second, 326.40 mph pass, narrowly besting Torrence’s 3.764/321.81 run.

It’s always interesting to watch teammates square off in a final round matchup. Especially during a Playoff event. When the teammates are numbers one and two in the standings.

So suffice it to say, fans were at the edge of their proverbial seats as Ron Capps faced Matt Hagan at the FallNationals. In the end though, it was Capps’ 3.930-second, 326.87 blast that defeated Hagan’s 3.919/328.78 performance to tighten up the points standings.

No racer wans to win on a red light, but that’s how Matt Smith grabbed the victory over Hector Arana Jr. in the final round at Texas. Despite Arana’s early departure, Smith blasted off a 6.839-second/199.08 run to get himself back on top of the Pro Stock Motorcycle championship points standings.
