After a one-year hiatus, the NHRA roared back to Brainerd, Minnesota for the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals this weekend. Now with only one more race to go in the regular NHRA season schedule, the points standings are critically important. While Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle were not on the docket, there was plenty of Top Fuel and Funny Car action. So let’s see how the classes stand in this week’s NHRA Wrap-Up.

2021 Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals Top Fuel Results

Over the course of his NHRA career, Steve Torrence has won at a lot of different tracks. In fact, every track except Brainerd International Raceway. Until this past weekend, of course. Torrence completed his “Super Sweep” of winning at every NHRA track by knocking out Clay Millican in the finals. Torrence made a 3.712-second, 323.74 mph run to best Millican’s 3.729/320.05 pass. The win put Torrence in command of the Top Fuel points going into the final regular season race in Indianapolis.

Matt Hagan notched his second win of the NHRA season, and edged closer to the top of the NHRA Funny Car points standings too. But it wasn’t easy—paired up against Cruz Pedregon in the Finals, Hagan needed an impressive 3.923 second, 327.98 mph run to push past Pedregon’s hard-charging 3.935/324.83 effort.
