A few months ago, NASCAR legend Tony Stewart surprised us all when video revealed that he’d spent some time at Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School. While rumors surged about it being a prelude to Stewart launching a NHRA career, things appear to be getting even more serious now.
In the first of what is billed as a multi-part video series, Stewart’s making test runs at the Strip in Las Vegas driving what looks to be a NHRA-spec Top Fuel dragster. His fiancé, veteran NHRA Top Fuel racer Leah Pruett, was trackside giving him some coaching tips, too.
Given that the episode is teased as “Part 1” in the title, it sure looks like Stewart may be inching closer to a NHRA Top Fuel racing license—but you can watch the video below and decide for yourself.
