In this short Summit Racing video from Atlanta Motorama, Lee from Hedman Hedders will walk you through a general overview of the things you need to think about, and be aware of, when selecting headers for your vehicle.

The most important factor in choosing a style will be the application of your car or truck—whether you’re racing it or keeping it on the street. Things like ride height and whether or not your vehicle has air bags also factor into the decision.

“All these things come into play when selecting the proper header,” Lee said.

Hedman Hedders makes a wide variety of long tube and shorty headers, primary tubes, port sizes, flange options in a variety of finishes. There are header kits available for virtually any application, and the key will be figuring out which is best for you.

You’ll also want to review our earlier post on how to choose the right header primary size and tube length.
