Camping can be enjoyed in a variety of different ways—from rolling out a sleeping bag under the stars to travelling in an ultra-luxe RV with all the comforts of home.

This retro-styled camping setup that we spotted in the Summit Racing Ohio retail store parking lot a while back, falls in the middle of that spectrum.

And the classic F-100 tow rig with perfectly-matched paint demanded we make it a Lot Shots feature.

First, the Truck

Using our handy 1967-72 Ford F-Series Ride Guide, we can tell this is a 1967 model, while the fender badge makes it clear that it’s the F-100 half-ton.

Under the hood is either a version of the trusty Ford 240/300 six or, more likely, the 352 Ford FE V8—given the driveline demands of the trailer weight, we’re guessing it’s the latter.

Save for a set of Torq-Thrust wheels, some tow mirrors, and glorious turquoise paint, the truck appears pretty stock.

The addition of a bed rack is a smart move for carrying anything from kayaks to mountain bikes—and it’s a great way to increase storage space with a rooftop cargo box, provided you don’t exceed the rack (or truck’s) weight rating.

Out back, the old Ford is running an aftermarket weight distribution hitch, which undoubtedly comes in handy with the big T@DA trailer out back.

Now, onto the trailer. Don’t let its delightful vintage aesthetic fool you, it’s a modern take on a retro look.

From what we read, the T@DA Microlite Travel Trailer was initially made by the German caravan company Knaus Tabbert starting in the early 2000s, but the line was shuttered briefly before being purchased by Dutchmen out of Goshen, Indiana and returned to production about a decade later.

Available in a few configurations, the T@DA trailer models could sleep up to three and boasted a ton of amenities in a super lightweight package. Unfortunately, the resurrected T@DA line was short-lived and discontinued a few years ago—in the years since, the T@DA campers have become prized for their versatility and funky vibe.

Happy Campers

Combine an incredible vintage truck with a retro-inspired caravan trailer, and we couldn’t think of a better way to enjoy the great outdoors.

And with a trusty Ford engine thumping away under the hood, we’re guessing this retro trailer/truck combo will see plenty of it.
