The Toyota Tacoma has quietly built a well-earned reputation for ruggedness and versatility over the last few decades. And that reputation is why the Summit Racing folks selected a Toyota Tacoma as the star of its Project Wayfinder build series.

See the official Project Wayfinder page at SummitRacing.com for complete details on the build.

Over the course of several episodes, the Summit Racing tech team is upgrading a Tacoma into an all-around performer, tailored to suit the needs of the outdoor enthusiast. Whether that’s fishing, hunting, boating, biking, or beyond, when Project Wayfinder is finished, it’ll be an extremely capable off-road rig ready to carry you on your next adventure.

Part 4, Interior Cargo & Security

While modern pickup truck cabs are roomier than ever nowadays, once you start loading in all of your gear—fishing tackle, a first aid kit, tools, hunting equipment, and so on—you can start to run out of space really quickly. And more importantly, a lot of that stuff is expensive and needs to be properly secured and hidden away from prying eyes.

The Summit Racing folks solved all of those issues in one fell swoop with some clever interior cargo racks and security boxes. Get a good look at the storage and security solutions installed in the Toyota Tacoma in episode four of Summit Racing’s Project Wayfinder build series.
