The clutch in your car or truck is the perfect example of a part that many of us don’t give much thought to. You push your foot down, the clutch disengages, you release your foot and you’re on your way.

But there’s a ton of engineering magic involved in that process.

So when we came across this video from the clutch experts over at Centerforce, we wanted to make sure you saw it too.

The video is less than two minutes long, but it goes into significant detail on the parts of a clutch system, and how they all work together to get your vehicle moving. Better still, the Centerforce folks take you into their facility to show you exactly what happens mechanically inside your clutch as the pedal is depressed.

Even if you’re pretty familiar with clutch operation, it’s still a cool video to watch as you see the clutch go through its motions. Neat stuff.

And if you’ve got the time, the Centerforce YouTube Channel is chock full of other nifty videos too, many of them with an educational slant to help you better understand the complexities of your driveline.
