The latest Summit Racing project is a Ram 2500 Heavy Duty pickup truck equipped with a Cummins 6.7L diesel engine.

But unlike a lot of project builds, the Summit Racing team didn’t start with a showroom-fresh vehicle here. Nope, this 2018 Ram 2500 is already a long haul, high mileage workhorse, with plenty of snow, rain, and dirt under its tires.

So the goal of this series is to show you how a few upgrades, some vital maintenance, and a little bit of elbow grease on a road-weary rig can be a smart alternative to buying an all new truck—and much easier on the wallet too.

Now 10 episodes deep into the Ram Revamp series, the Summit Racing project team is going to finish up the truck’s suspension setup with an AEV DualSport SC kit. This particular system was chosen because it gives a good mix of on- and off-road performance, and will work well with the airbag suspension installed in an earlier episode.

Then, the Ram 2500 gets a Hellwig Big Wig sway bar upgrade. This makes the Ram more sure-footed at highway speeds, and will have even more of a positive impact when the truck is hauling a heavy trailer load.

All of these suspension upgrades work together, and will go a long way towards improving the Ram’s drivability and cargo-carrying capability.
