Call it a pre-release.

This beautiful 1969 Camaro RS, built by Extreme Auto Restoration, officially debuted this week at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. But before making its journey to the desert, it made an unofficial debut at the Summit Racing Retail Super Store in McDonough, Georgia last week.

Both debuts were two years in the making.

That’s how much time was spent building the Camaro, including a total of 1,671 physical labor hours and 297 hours put into the paint process.

The body was painted with Sherwin Williams Ultra 7000 line Torch Red with a carbon fiber accent hockey stick stripe and re-stacked clear. All of its trim was powdercoated black. The Camaro’s front and rear spoilers, along with the inner fenders, are pure carbon fiber. The body’s rear frame rails were replaced and moved in a total of eight inches to allow for the wider rear wheels.

Under the hood lurks a supercharged LSA crate engine hooked to a 4L80E transmission. The supercharger is cooled by a custom supercharger core cooling system. A custom-built stainless three-inch oval exhaust system with Magnaflow mufflers and electrical exhaust cutouts gets rid of the LSA’s spent gasses.

The Camaro sits on Speedtech Performance front sub-frame with frame connectors. It also features a Speedtech front tubular system with custom in-house built billet spindles and rear four-link set up with a nine-inch rear end.

Extreme Auto Restoration opted for Vellano three-piece carbon fiber wheels with a machine brushed face—20″ x 9″ in front, 21″ x 15″ at the rear. A Brembo GT brake system provides the stopping power. The interior was done by Pro-Auto Custom Interiors in Tennessee and includes a Vintage Air A/C system and Dakota Digital dash with carbon fiber housing.
