Last summer, the folks over at Dodge revealed plans for a Hellcat version of its Durango SUV.

Because: Hellcat all-the-things.

Now, we have confirmation that Dodge wasn’t bluffing, because production of the super SUV has officially begun.

That 2021 Durango SRT Hellcat stats are brutal, starting with a supercharged 6.2L Hemi engine making 710 horsepower and 645 ft.-lbs. of torque. Power is sent through Dodge’s eight-speed TorqueFlite automatic.

Yup, Dodge was serious, the 2021 Durango SRT Hellcat is on the assembly line. You’ll soon be able to drive an SUV that’ll run 11s in stock trim. (Image/Stellantis)

Dodge says that power is good enough to scoot the hefty SUV to 60 mph in a scant 3.5 seconds and cover a quarter mile in an NHRA-certified 11.5 seconds. It’ll also top-out at a blistering 180 mph.

Heck, Dodge even divulged that its Durango SRT Hellcat is faster than the SRT 392 on a road course.

The catch? It’s a big one. The Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat will only be made for the 2021 model year. So if you need to haul a half dozen friends in a 700+ hp SUV, you may want to get in line now.

Oh, and it carries a $80,995 price tag.

Expect to start seeing it in Dodge showrooms by this Spring. In the meantime, check out the teaser video below—and cross your fingers for a Pacifica Hellcat next.
