Over at Hemmings Auctions is something you don’t see very often—a Fox-Body Mercury Capri. Mechanically the same as the Fox Mustang, the Capri’s front fenders and domed rear hatch glass definitely made the car unique. Hailing from Canada, the odometer shows 147,500 kilometers, which equates to 91,562 miles.
From the auction description:
The engine is the last of the carbureted 5.0L V8s, featuring a 585 CFM Holley four-barrel and rated at 210 horsepower and 270 lbs.-ft. of torque. The Borg-Warner T-5 five-speed manual transmission is said to shift smoothly and is connected to the original 7.5-inch rear axle with 2.73 gears. The seller states that the engine and transmission both function well, with no visible smoke upon startup and no oil leaks present.
The suspension appears to be factory, as are the power-assisted 10-inch front disc brakes and nine-inch rear drums to slow the fun down. The Capri sports its original 10-hole alloy wheels with Yokohama AVS tires that will probably need to be replaced in the near future.
The Capri was repainted in its original Medium Canyon Red Metallic finish. The seller states that the there is no evidence of rust perforation, the original glass is free of damage, and the exterior beltline trim is all original and has been repainted in body color or contrasting gloss black.
The Charcoal interior has the full set of factory gauges and sporty high-rise bucket seats with “halo” style headrests. The carpeting, dashboard, and door panels are reported to be in original condition. The shifter has been upgraded to a Hurst unit.

Where did the rear window louvers come from, I did not know they were made for the 1985 bubble back
