DETROIT, MI — The 2020 Ridler Award will be awarded Sunday, but the final eight contenders have been unveiled—the Great 8, as it were.
The Ridler Award is given to annually to a vehicle deemed to be the best overall custom build that is making its show-car debut at the Detroit Autorama, which kicks off today at the TCF Center in Detroit, MI.
The following vehicles were named Great 8 Ridler Finalists:
1969 Chevrolet Camaro – Tim and Angie Wheeler; Muskogee, OK

1966 Ford F-100 – George Conrad; Huron, OH

1955 Cadillac Coupe – Frank and Demi Hinmon; Genoa, NV

1963 Chevy Wagon – Brad, Brady and Cory Ranwelier; Newulm, MN

1956 Oldmobile 98 – Jeffrey Hess; Woodland, CA

1955 Chevy Belair – Bob Mantranga; Newport Coast, CA

1929 Ford Model A – Greg and Gail Wilson; Louisville, KY

1934 Ford Pickup – Jerry Logan; Toledo, WA

I would love to see the 55 Chevy win it, but if history is any indication it will likely be one of those big boats. Either the 55 Caddy or the 56 Olds. All eight are beautiful machines.

stoked on that Oldsmobile Sled, that one should’ve taken it IMO. and that 55 Cadillac was sure cool too. All great cars/trucks as always though… Congrats to the 63 wagon, always cool to see a long roof in the running, let alone win the whole thing!
