NORWALK, OH. — After all the work—and all the talk between teams—it was time to put up or shut up at Summit Motorsports Park.

That’s where the four teams in the $10K Drag Shootout—Team Stinky Pinky, Team Bigun, Team Boddie, and the Dream Team— met to determine a champion.

Things were sure to get interesting as none of the cars had seen any track time.

With the possibility of problems arising when the teams started pushing their cars into race mode, each team received an extra $500 for possible surprise repairs. In addition, the teams could use as much as $1,000 of their own money as part of this budget (as stipulated in the $10K Drag Shootout rules).

But there was a catch.

For the first $500 the team used, they had to add 100 pounds to their car. If they used the full $1,000, they had to add another 100 pounds to their final base weight.

Did this factor into which team won the competition?
