Summit Racing is celebrating its 55th year in 2023.
It seems like the famous Summit Racing catalog has been around just as long, but the company didn’t actually create its first catalog until the 1970s—years after the company was founded. A lot has changed since that first catalog, including the size of the book and the number of times it’s produced annually. Even the way in which the catalog is produced has evolved dramatically with technological advancements.
Just ask Lyn Smith.

I remember when I first reopened magnolia drag strip is when I first meant Lynn ,,
Funny story about when I first meeting he said his name was a A Lynn Smith ,,
I thought he said Alynn Smith ,,
So he was known from there on as Alien
So he ended up running the altered there quite often , he and the car was a pleasure to have at the track

You let me work out the bugs when I was getting the car out of mothballs. I couldn’t figure out why you and the staff kept calling me Alien. But, you treated me so well that you could call me anything you wanted. It’s been a while since we crossed paths and I hope you’re well, happy and out of jail.

I have thoroughly enjoyed our friendship since we met in the late ’80s and am glad we stay in touch. Our teaching days are some of my good memories from the past.
Never realized there had been a 302 small block in that car early on. Such a cool piece.
