Eddie Motorsports has developed billet aluminum hood hinges for 1947-54 Chevrolet pickups. According to the company, these trucks were notorious for the awkward geometry of their stock hood hinges.
The Eddie Motorsports hinges use superior materials and a modern design that smoothly guides the hood up and down. It is a difference that you can see and hear the first time you open and shut the hood, according to the company’s press release. The hinges bolt directly into the stock mounting holes to update the standard stamped factory and spring assembly and include slots to adjust the alignment (Installation requires drilling four 3/16-inch holes to fasten the strut mount to the hood).
Eddie’s hinges are precision CNC-machined from high quality 6061-T6 billet aluminum for the ultimate in strength and aesthetics. To ensure long lasting action and smooth operation, the hinges utilize sealed bearings at critical pivot points and stainless steel, nitrogen-filled struts to assist when opening the hood. To complete the installation, each kit is supplied with stainless steel fasteners for the body mount and the hood.
Eddie Motorsports Billet Aluminum Hood Hinges are available in seven custom finishes, including polished, machined, and a number of anodized coats.
