It’s that time of year where you might find yourself running late to work.

Even worse, you might have to wake up early just to warm up your car, scrape the windows, and deal with the icy roads.

Fortunately, we’ve found a way to significantly help with one of those areas: clearing frost from your windshield.

WATE-TV Meteorologist Ken Weathers explains in this short video:

If you prefer reading to watching videos, here’s the gist in a few easy steps:

  1. Mix a solution that consists of 1/3 water and 2/3 isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol
  2. Put the solution in a spray bottle
  3. Spray your windshield when it’s covered in frost or ice for an instant defrost

Weathers explains that rubbing alcohol has a freezing point of 128 degrees below freezing. That means you can keep the spray bottle in your car where it will never freeze and use it as necessary.

Give it a try and spread the word to your friends and coworkers!
