Las Vegas, Nevada – The Vintage Air folks have been hard at work over the past year developing more vehicle applications for its Gen. 5 SureFit systems—and that’s really good news if you’re a Jeep owner.

What first caught our eye at the 2025 SEMA New Products Showcase was an impressive air conditioning and heat upgrade system for the mighty Jeep Wagoneer.

With an interior space akin to a high school gym, the Vintage Air system is powerful enough to effectively cool/heat the massive Wagoneer cabin better than the stock Jeep setup ever did. And better yet, it integrates seamlessly into the dash so the casual eye would never notice a visual difference from the OE package.

Vintage Air SureFit Systems include pretty much everything you need to complete the retrofit too. And once it’s installed, you simply head to an authorized service center to charge the system with refrigerant, and you’re on your way.

On the other side of the Jeep size spectrum is the O.G. Wrangler YJ—if you’ve checked a calendar lately, even the newest YJ models are now over 30 years old at this point.

And plenty of YJs rolled off the showroom floor without A/C to begin with.

So here again, Vintage Air steps to the plate with an all-new Gen. 5 SureFit Kit for 1987-95 Jeep Wrangler YJ. And it’s more than just an “add-on” air conditioning package here too, the SureFit Kit offers blended heat, cool, and defrost functions all in one complete retrofit system.

One final thing we saw from the Vintage Air team was a newly updated Gen. 5 Mini Heat/Cool/Defrost kit.

This universal package is incredibly compact, so it’s a great option for tiny roadsters, prewar hot rods, and yes, even early Willys Jeeps that don’t have a lot of cabin/under-dash space to fit a large A/C and heat retrofit system.

So yeah, if you’ve wanted to add heat or A/C to your old car…or are simply fed-up with your vehicle’s under-performing stock HVAC system…then it’s worth checking out what the Vintage Air gang has to offer.
