As we begin packing our bags for the 2025 SEMA Show, we’re taking a sneak peek at some of the products being featured at the event.

For instance, if you’ve got a prewar classic or hot rod, you’re going to want to hear what’s new from the rubber Rembrandts over at Coker Tire.

Over a decade ago, Coker revolutionized (wheel pun!) the restoration industry when it introduced a tire with the vintage look of a bias-ply, yet with the reliability and ride quality of a modern radial.

The only caveat was that those throwback tires were positioned more towards the classic cruisers and musclecars from the 1950s and 1960s. Now Coker is showing some love to the prewar and hotrod crowds with its new lineup of Coker Excelsior Roadster Radial Tires.

Coker says you can get Excelsior Roadster Radial Tires with a traditional black sidewall, or a delightful whitewall. The scalloped “piecrust” shoulder and throwback style sidewall lettering is just icing on the proverbial cake here.

But underneath that vintage aesthetic is a 21st century radial tire. As you’d expect, Coker uses modern materials and construction techniques to give these tires a smooth ride quality with increased tread life (when compared to a bias ply tire).

The biggest news here though, is sizing. Coker made sure to offer Excelsior Roadster Radial Tires in a 600R16 to provide O.E. fitments on 1935 to 1948 Ford cars and light-duty trucks. Better still, Coker offers larger sizes for other popular models too. Or you can really go nuts and pick out two pairs of staggered sizes for a classic hotrod rake.

Here’s the complete size lineup:

  • 450/475R16
  • 600R16
  • 650R16
  • 700R16
  • 750R16

If you’re following along at home, that pretty much covers most American cars from the 1930s and 1940s. Heck, those are also common sizes for plenty of European sports cars from the era too.

Special note on the “Roadster” tires in the Excelsior line. Coker tells us that the Excelsior Roadster is a tubeless tire, but keep in mind that some vintage wheels require a tube, so this tire can be run with or without a tube.
