When GM officially announced the end of the 6th-Gen Camaro a while back, we were wondering if the Chevy folks would send the Camaro off with some slick special models.

Well, they totally are.

Simply dubbed “Collector’s Editions,” Chevy is making a special options package available on late model Camaro trim levels: the LT/RS, LT1, SS, and (most importantly) the ZL1.

It all starts with a coat of Panther Black Metallic Tintcoat paint, which is a clear nod to the corporate codename “Panther” used in the original 1967 F-body development program.

Along with subtle black pinstripes, the Collector’s Editions will have either 20 inch satin or polished black wheels. LT/RS, LT1 and SS models will get the unique front splitter used on the 1LE Camaro and the hardtop models receive the rear spoiler from the ZL1 Camaro.

Speaking of ZL1, yup, there’s a Collector’s Edition of that one too. Limited to just 350 cars, the 2024 Camaro ZL1 Collector’s Edition retains the 650 horsepower supercharged LT4 powerplant from the 2023 ZL1.

The Collector’s Edition ZL1 will also receive unique “Panther Black Matte” paint, which Chevy tells us is the first time a Camaro has ever received a matte paint job from the factory. And each ZL1 gets an exclusive serialized collector’s badge on the steering wheel.

ZL1 Collector’s Edition buyers will also get some nifty accessories too, like a custom Shinola watch.

These 2024 Collector’s Editions mark the end of the sixth generation Camaro, and we haven’t heard much about the possibility of a seventh gen coming in 2025.

Though Chevy has been purposely vague on its future plans for the iconic ponycar, we did get this interesting tidbit in an earlier press release:

“While we are not announcing an immediate successor today, rest assured, this is not the end of Camaro’s story.”

Scott Bell, Vice President, Global Chevrolet

So all eyes are on Bowtie HQ to see what Chevy has in store for the Camaro. Perhaps a hybrid drivetrain? Oh, and if you’re listening Chevy, bring back the T-tops!
