We’re saddened to hear that one of our favorite local tracks is shutting down soon. News broke earlier this week that Pittsburgh International Race Complex—better known simply as Pitt Race to enthusiasts—has been sold. The current ownership says the race track will close down following the end of the 2025 race season, as the new owners will presumably transition the land to another use.
“The Final Season of Pitt Race
Jim and Kathy Stout, current owners of Pitt Race International
“When the checkered flag is thrown, the green flag is waved for the next race. Pitt Race has been our passion. We strived to make Pitt Race a premier motorsports destination. With much thought, Jim and I decided to step away from ownership of the facility. We thank our loyal customers, our dedicated vendors and sponsors, the unwavering supporters, and mostly our dedicated and passionate employees.
“It’s been a fun journey and ride.”
The Stout family has owned the 400+ acre complex for over a decade and have invested a significant amount of time, effort, and money towards turning Pitt Race into a world class motorsports facility—and from our vantage point, they succeeded.
From top-tier SCCA races to local autocross runs to student Formula SAE testing, the track has hosted an incredible mix of events, and its closure will impact the thousands of enthusiasts who frequented its well-maintained campus.
Located just an hour or so from Summit Racing and OnAllCylinders world headquarters, Pitt Race is a favorite “home track” for many of our employees, along with plenty of other folks from the Ohio/West Virginia/Pennsylvania region—heck, it attracts plenty of racers from across the east coast of the United States too. (It was a regular stop for the Summit Racing Autocross Week race-and-drive tour as well.)
According to the Pitt Race social media folks, the last public event will be held November 8 and 9, 2025. Afterwards the complex will change hands to its new ownership.

Can’t make it to the track before it closes? Check out this video from Summit Racing that features a stop at Pitt Race during a previous Summit Racing Autocross Week event:
This is a sad but true comment. Money talks and unfortunately thousands of track fans, racing enthusiast, and weekend hobbies and future racers will be cut short not because this track didn’t succeed but because money came first. I am very saddened to hear about this complex closing. It brought something to Beaver County and put them on the map. however, that will be no more. The one picking up the pieces is the little guy who is invested every paycheck week the week to be involved to be employed to be a customer to be competitive. Nobody bought them out. They didn’t see a dime they took a loss they will never recover from. as for the kids in this area, they’ve lost an opportunity to enjoy something in their hometown. It might’ve been better off than never have to place in the first place instead of reviving it years ago cause all I did was lead people on to believing there was false hope in the county so I hope at the end of the day. It was all worth it as for B. I have mixed feelings on that subject. One thing they can never take is the freedom of speech and that’s what I’m exercising.
