When Ford introduced the 2016 Shelby GT350 last year, we were told it would be powered by the most powerful naturally aspirated production Ford engine ever. And now it’s official.

Ford confirmed yesterday the GT350’s 5.2L V8 will make 526 horsepower and 429 ft.-lbs. of torque. By comparison, that’s 21 more peak horsepower but  52 less ft.-lbs. of torque than the Chevy Camaro Z/28. It’s also the highest revving Ford production V8 of all time, with a redline of 8,250 rpm.

The GT350 will come in at about $12,000 less than the Z/28, according to reports.
