gate_bbjf15_04What possesses someone to stuff a blown 355-cubic-inch small block Chevy inside (and we mean literally inside) a 1962 Volkswagen Microbus? Come to think of it, what makes someone chop, shave, and out-and-out hot rod a VW Bus?

We like to call it pure genius.

That’s the short answer, at least.

If you’d like to hear the full story about how this radical VW Microbus took shape, check out the interview with owner Ken Prather below. We caught up with Prather at Summit Racing‘s January/February catalog photo shoot (the VW is the catalog’s cover car and centerfold feature), where he gave us a tour of the bus. For complete specs and additional details, check out the feature story here.
