Check out some of the custom pedal cars spotted at the 2014 Detroit Autorama.

The Genuine Hotrod Hardware Pedal Car Challenge takes place at select Autorama, World of Wheels, and Cavalcade of Customs shows, which are part of the Summit Racing Show Car Series indoor car show circuit. Pedal cars were donated by Genuine Hotrod Hardware, a direct-mail and Internet supplier of hot rod collectibles, tools, and lifestyle items, and customized by area high school and trade school students who live in proximity to each show. The finished cars are judged for creativity, craftsmanship, overall appearance, and attention to detail and awards are presented for the first-, second-, and third-place entries.

Congratulations to Oakland Schools Technical Campus Northeast, which won this year’s Detroit Autorama Pedal Car Challenge. Students took the pedal car build to the extreme under the direction of collision repair instructor Ted DeLater.
