Earlier this week, Stellantis announced that Tim Kuniskis is now tapped to lead its American brands and direct its overall marketing strategy—which, duh, includes Dodge.
The name Tim Kuniskis probably sounds familiar to you, as he was the former boss over at Dodge, before being shuffled to head-up the Ram Truck division. More importantly, Kuniskis is also a gearhead and during his tenure at Dodge, he championed the brand’s performance revival—specifically its tire-nuking Challenger, Charger, and Viper models.
…And from what we can tell, the first item on his to-do list is resuscitating the Dodge SRT division.

Short for “Street & Racing Technology”, the vehicles that wore the coveted SRT badge were the no-holds-barred performance variants of Dodge’s showroom models—that (if we’re being honest) may have comprised creature comforts in the name of smile-inducing acceleration and handling.
Now, you may recall that Dodge shut the SRT party down back in 2021. A little while later we learned that the fabled Gen. III Hemi was set to depart, followed by the brand’s Charger and Challenger models.
But as they say, it’s always darkest just before dawn, and with this week’s news, we’re suddenly more optimistic about Dodge’s refocus on horsepower and skidpad numbers.

While there are currently only three models in the Dodge lineup (Durango, Charger, and Hornet), it could mean that each of those get a new SRT-branded doppelganger. And—better still—it could mean some fan-favorite nameplates come roaring back to life.
Fingers crossed for a new SRT-4 Sport Compact or perhaps even that long-rumored sports coupe that…dare we say it…revives the Barracuda name?
The gearhead world holds its breath…
