Look, we already know that the 2025 Corvette ZR1 has a 1,064 horsepower engine in back.
Now, Chevy has stuffed a 186 hp electric motor up front.
The end result is a hybrid ‘Vette ZR1X that—GM estimates—is able to run from zero-to-sixty in less than two seconds and cut eights in the quarter mile with a 150 mph trap speed.
Somewhere, Zora Arkus-Duntov is grinning.

So yeah, electric and ICE power come together to create the fastest factory Corvette, ever—with all-wheel drive, no less.
Chevy’s already dubbing the ZR1X as “America’s Hypercar” and we’re inclined to believe them. Let’s explain why.
The party starts with the mighty 5.5L LT7 V8. We’ve talked about it before with the introduction of the ZR1 last year, but here again, it’s a flat-plane powerplant that’s churning out 1,064 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 828 lb.-ft. of torque at 6,000 rpm.
Similar to the E-Ray hybrid, the power is sent to the rear wheels, while a 1.9 kWh battery powered electric motor is tucked under the frunk to deliver an on-demand 186 horsepower and 145 lb.-ft. of torque to the front wheels.
But lest you think Chevy just stuffed the E-Ray drive unit into the ZR-1 and called it a day, the one in the ZR1X is significantly upgraded to produce an additional 26 hp and 20 lb.-ft. of torque.

The two powertrains are kept separate, and the propulsion battery maintains a charge through what Chevy calls “regenerative efforts.”
What’s really interesting is that GM says that the front axle can apply power up to 160 mph before it disconnects—which Chevy tells us, is intended to help quarter-mile acceleration and preserve on-track balance.
If that’s not enough, you can tick the ZTK Performance Package box on the options sheet which Chevrolet bills as the “Pinnacle of Corvette Performance.” The ZTK kit includes a revised suspension and stickier Pilot Cup 2R Michelin Tires.

Our favorite part though, is the “Push to Pass” feature—which if you follow IndyCar, means that the ZR1X can provide maximum power on demand with the press of a button. (Better save that one for the on-ramp, kids.)
The best news is that the ZR1X will be offered as both a coupe with a removable roof panel or as a traditional full hardtop model.
How much will it cost?
Well, Chevy hasn’t said yet. But it did reveal that the ZR1X will be rolling out of the Bowling Green, Kentucky assembly plant in time for the 2026 model year.
