The 2025 Mission Foods NHRA drag racing season fired off with the vigor and excitement that you’d expect from 11,000-horsepower nitro burners, Pro Mods, Pro Stock and the endless muscle cars in the sportsman ranks. It all went down at Gainesville Raceway, the site of the 56th Annual Amalie Motor Oil Gatornationals, one of the NHRA’s longest standing and iconic events.
With winter testing complete, racers begin the chase for the championships in a host of professional and sportsman categories.
Performing well in Gainesville is important, as it sets the tone for the season.
Anderson Sets a Pro Stock Record

Reigning Pro Stock world champion Greg Anderson wasted little time showing his hand. On just his second pass, he delivered a 6.443 elapsed time—the quickest pass in Pro Stock history—to claim the top spot in qualifying.
“I knew it was on a good pass, but I didn’t know it would be that good,” said the most winning driver in Pro Stock history.

Anderson and the KB Racing team moved through the tough field, securing three of the four spots in the semifinals.
Ultimately, it was Anderson and Dallas Glenn, who finished the 2024 season in second place, in the race for the trophy.

The all-Summit Racing Equipment final was set to be a barnburner.
Glenn needed a tight reaction time to have a shot at the title, and he got away with a 0.022 light to best Anderson’s 0.055 reaction.
But in the next moment, Anderson’s Camaro uncharacteristically shook the tires, while Glenn drove off to claim the Gatornationals victory running 6.54 at 211 mph.

AB Motorsports Continues Its Success in Top Fuel
In other exciting Gatornationals news, Top Fuel champion Antron Brown kicked off the 2025 season with a win in Florida.

The reigning champ navigated the tricky conditions, beating Krista Baldwin in the pedal-romping opening frame, then Clay Millican, Steve Torrence and the ever-tough Shaun Langdon in the final.
Brown delivered a hole shot (0.036 to 0.046) and a 3.673 at 333.99 mph against Langdon, who ran a 3.68 at 332.67 mph.
