The NHRA headed out to the desert for the second race of the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, and it turned out to be a history-making weekend in the Pro Stock class. Cristian Cuadra became the first Mexican-born racer to qualify in the #1 position in the professional classes, but it was Camrie Caruso who would eventually take home the Wally. In the process, she became just the second female winner in NHRA Pro Stock history. Her win played out before a sold-out crowd–the third sell-out of the young 2023 season.
