Thanks to its incredible strength and light weight, carbon fiber is an ideal material for a lot of high performance vehicle applications. And not just for monocoque bodies—carbon fiber is a good choice for fabricating smaller parts like inspection covers, access panels, dashboards, brackets, bulkheads, gauge panels, and a host of other vital race car components.

Problem is, it’s pretty expensive.

Or at least, it used to be. Summit Racing’s now got handy Carbon Fiber Sheets that you can use to shed some weight from your ride—without shedding too much weight from your wallet.

These 0.040″ thick sheets are made from 100% carbon fiber and Summit Racing says they’re crafted using the same process found in Formula 1 race car parts.

You can get these carbon fiber sheets in either 39″ x 24″ or 48″ x 19″. You also have a choice of a glossy or flat finish.

Important! Just remember to use the right safety gear (gloves, goggles, respirators, etc.) when you’re cutting or trimming these panels down.
