In case you’ve missed any of our series of QuickFlicks videos on LS engine swaps, we’ve covered how to choose a camshaft, intake manifold, and cylinder heads for your swap. That begs the question: How do you get all of those aftermarket parts working together in harmony?

That’s where good tuning comes into play.

If you’re planning on doing the tuning yourself, you can find a number of performance programmers to help you do the job. Depending on your modifications, budget, and expectations for your LS engine, you can choose from basic tuners or complete custom tuning systems that allow you to custom tune your engine to match your modifications and performance goals.

This video shows you some of the programming and tuning options available and provides recommendations on when to use each. Again, modifications, engine expectations, and experience play a huge factor in your choice. Know your limitations—and choose wisely.
