A parking lot is a parking lot is a parking lot—unless it’s the Summit Racing parking lot. On any given day or time, the lot outside a Summit Racing store can turn into an impromptu mini car show, depending on who’s stopped by the store. Each Wednesday, we’ll share our parking lot find of the week—another benefit of being Powered by Summit Racing Equipment.

It’s downright cold outside. We’re talking single-digit temperature, sub-zero windchill, mind-numbing cold. It’s so cold you could see Manti Te’o’s girlfriend’s breath.

And now we’ve officially beaten the Manti Te’o jokes into the ground.

Seriously, it’s bitter cold–even by Midwestern winter standards–so we’re turning up the heat with some open flames. We found this flamed 1950 Mercury Lead Sled late last year in the Summit Racing Ohio parking lot. We originally thought it was 1951 Mercury, but a friend pointed out that the one-piece rear window and equal-length trunk lid and fenders tell us it’s a 1950 model instead.

Good stuff.
