We stared at the Corvette and Lamborghini posters on our bedroom walls and wished we had them.

We recklessly drove that classic red Ferrari convertible in Sega Out Run on TV, as well as our Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars on the living-room floor.

We admired the rumble and roar of every now-iconic American muscle car disturbing the peace in our childhood hometowns.

These were the moments that forged our passion and interest in cars and trucks.

Do you remember your first automotive love?

These folks do.

Lyndsy Payne

“It may of started off rough & at least 4 different colors, but at the age of 10 I fell in love with this car. 15 years later and I’m still more in love with it than ever.”

Walter Lovely

“My future brother-in-law’s 1970 GTO Judge. He rumbled into the yard in that and I was a Pontiac fan for life.”

Tyler Wright

“FORD TRUCKS! I don’t have a picture of my grandpa’s ’79 F250 — he had it before my mom got the ’94 F150 in the picture so it wins. But I’ve wanted this truck since she bought it. I miss ’em both, but happy I have their truck and all the memories.”

Nathan Deschane

“The General Lee! We only had one season of Dukes of Hazzard when I was a little kid, but I watched that season over and over!”

Daniel Villy Miguel Petersen

“This ’66 Electra was not only my parents’ first car, it also drove me home from the hospital when I was born back in ’91, and in 2011-’12, my dad gave it to me, but she was heavily damaged/rusted from all the salt and daily driving in the 90’s here in Denmark.

“So in ’13 I had to part her out for good. The nailhead and transmission thankfully works so that, all the chrome parts, hubcaps, etc., are worth keeping. I got her hood ornament in a little case as a reminder of not only remembering ‘the car’ that sparked my interest of American cars and cars in general, but also treasure the time me, my family and friends had around this special ’66 Electra.”

Tim Teisman

“A purple and silver ’56 Chevy 210 2-door sedan ex-race car that sat in a garage not far from my house where I grew up in the late ’70s.”

Thomas McGinley

“The 1951 Hudson Hornet! I first got my automotive passion from the movie “Cars” when I was 6 years old. Doc Hudson was my favorite character and was modeled after, what I think, was the best looking car in the movie.”

Jarrad Musca

“The’97 XH Falcon Ute is my first automotive love (should have my license in a few days). Over the past 9-10 months, I have spent a lot of time, money and effort fixing her up to what she is now, but everything I have sacrificed in order to get her the way she is now is definitely worth it.”

Tyler Ticer

“My dad’s 1970 Mach 1. He sold it when I was 5. It’s what got me hooked on cars. I’m going to school now to become a Ford technician. My dream is to find that exact car someday and buy it back.”
