UnderCover Truck Bed Covers wants you to store your cargo “under” its new tonneau cover…and on top of it!
The now-available UnderCover Ridgelander tonneau cover, which UnderCover will feature at the 2016 SEMA Show, is a versatile locking tonneau cover that can be accessorized with multiple approved add-ons. It’s that reason UnderCover claims the Ridgelander is “the most dynamic truck bed cover to hit the market.”
Each Ridgelander comes standard with four mounting legs and two cargo bars that are adjustable and easily movable along the Ridgelander’s t-slot channels. Those allow truck owners to secure items above the truck bed the way you might on the roof of a van or SUV.
Ridgelander’s “Tango Track” built-in perimeter track system lines the outside of the cover and can be customized with more than 35 approved Rhino Rack accessories. Tango is “the ultimate cargo management system,” according to UnderCover’s website. “Whether you’re strapping down a payload or simply organizing your cargo, the Tango will become the most helpful tool in your truck bed.”
Tango can be utilized with or without the Ridgelander cover on the truck. That’s the key that helps Ridgelander take the leap from common tonneau cover to truck bed cover and cargo management system.
When it comes to tonneau covers, there is no shortage of options. UnderCover seems to have positioned the Ridgelander as the perfect truck bed cover for those who enjoy the weekend, whether it be campers, bikers, fishers, hunters, or tailgaters. Ridgelander does not provide as much weather-resistant storage as a truck cap, but it gives truck owners a second tier of storage. You can protect your cargo under the weather-resistant Ridgelander cover, and strap bicycles over the truck bed. That provides an uncompromising level of additional storage capacity, while also freeing up your hitch to tow a trailer, boat, or camper.
The Ridgelander is made from military-grade aluminum and weighs an average of 58 pounds, “making it one of the lightest hard truck bed covers on the market,” according to UnderCover. It features a hidden hinge that allows for a quick no-tool removal. UnderCover claims the Ridgelander can be installed in 40 to 60 minutes and requires no drilling.
