Well, that was fast (pun intended)!

We had barely finished our earlier post on Hot Rod Drag Week when Jeff Lutz blasted the quickest and fastest pass in Drag Week history. From behind the wheel of his Pro Mod Camaro, Lutz scorched the strip with a 6.051-second run at 251.95 miles-per-hour.

That puts him just .11 seconds away from having the fastest licensed street car–an honor currently held by Larry Larson and his Chevy S10.

Things are just getting started this week, and there will be plenty of opportunities for Lutz. Again, you can watch live coverage on the Motor Trend YouTube channel.
