Installing a trailer brake controller is a piece of cake on a truck or SUV already equipped with a towing package. It’s usually as simple as plugging a wiring harness into your vehicle.

It’s a little more complicated on vehicles without towing packages because you have to splice the wiring yourself, but it’s a simple-enough process by splicing and color matching your wires.
