Dodge introduced a powerful new 600-plus-horsepower Challenger this week that will compete with the Chevy Camaro ZL1 and the Ford Mustang GT500 for high performance pony car supremacy.

Production is slated to start this fall.

The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat will be powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI engine.

According to an AutoWeek report, the car features “a forged steel crankshaft, forged alloy pistons and heat-treated aluminum-alloy cylinder heads to handle all the power. Chrysler’s TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic is optional; an upgraded six-speed manual is standard. Like a true pony car, power is sent to the rear wheels.”
