As one of the South’s premier motoring festivals, the Summit Racing Equipment Atlanta Motorama will showcase a wide array of vehicles including high performance cars, street rods, classic cars, trucks and off-road vehicles, exotics, motorcycles–and even airplanes, boats, and military vehicles.

Now, event organizers have added an American Street Car Series autocross competition to the two-day festival, which takes place April 26-27 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

The American Street Car Series, which hosts autocross events around the country, will coordinate an autocross open to all show participants. The competition is open for autocross veterans, as well as drivers interested in giving it a try. There is no additional charge for the autocross competition as it is included with the show participant entry fee.

Several divisions offer drivers the opportunity to show off their car’s performance.

“Sponsoring an event for car enthusiasts of all ages is a great opportunity to also provide information about safe driving and the AARP Smart Driver courses that are taught by volunteer instructors throughout the state,” said Karen Cooper, Associate State Director, AARP GA.

Other features of the Summit Racing Equipment Atlanta Motorama include:

  • Car show midway featuring some of the nation’s best show vehicles
  • Judged car show with awards in multiple categories
  • Summit Racing Manufacturers Midway with more than 150 vendors and thousands of products
  • Car-crushing exhibitions by Dan Runte and the Summit Racing/BIGFOOT monster truck
  • American Street Car Series Autocross sponsored by AARP—free with car show vehicle registration
  • Nightly Speedway Cruise—show participants can drive on the high banks of Atlanta Motor Speedway
  • Speedway Salon featuring some of the most expensive cars in the country
  • Classic vehicle auction—one of the largest in the Southeastern U.S.
  • Swap meet and car corral
  • Educational seminars on car care, buying/selling cars, defensive driving, and more

Summit Racing Equipment Atlanta Motorama show hours are 9 am to 5 pm Saturday, April 26 and 9 am to 4 pm Sunday, April 27. Admission is $12 per day for adults and $5 for kids ages 6-11. Kids 5 and under will be admitted free.
