The battle between the Hennessey Venom GT and Bugatti Veyron continues!

Hennessey fired the latest salvo by making a 270.49 mile-per-hour pass on a Kennedy Space Center runway. The 3.22-mile pass bested the Veyron’s fastest speed by .063 miles-per-hour.

That’s fast enough to impress everyone—everyone except the folks at NASA, that is. NASA officials wouldn’t let the Hennessey make a return pass on the landing strip, so the record isn’t officially recognized. Doh!
