Oil pans have one of the dirtiest jobs in your engine compartment. They’re absolutely critical to your engine’s entire wellbeing, yet they don’t often get the same love and attention as those power-producing components on the top side of your engine.

With help from the guys in the Summit Racing Technical Department, we’re changing that–at least for today.

This video covers basic installation tips and tricks for installing an oil pan on your stock or mildly modified Chevrolet or Ford small block. It also includes valuable information on oil pump pickups, oil pan gaskets, and other oil pan-related components–everything you need for an optimal, leak-free installation.

If an aftermarket oil pan is in your future, make plans for a proper installation now. Watch and learn!
