Hot August Nights Reno

Hot August Nights.

It’s one of those events that sort of named itself.

Brought to life in 1986, the annual Reno, NV event encapsulates every aspect of the nostalgic 1950s and ‘60s hot rod lifestyle—the people, the music, the parties, and perhaps most importantly, the cars.

When Hot August Nights first started, it wasn’t even a vehicle-centric event. It just sort of evolved into one after people—both spectators and participants, alike—fell in love with the oohing and ahhing at the parade of hot rods cruising down Virginia Street in downtown Reno.

Hot August Nights 2012 kicks off today with show-n-shines, cruises, and more entertainment than your average fun person can handle. The event runs through Sunday. You can check out the Hot August Nights schedule here.

We’re going to do our best to keep you apprised of the goings on there with photo galleries and anything else noteworthy we stumble across.

In the meantime, we got some shots of some pretty exceptional cars that visited Summit Racing’s retail store in Sparks, NV—adjacent to Reno—as they geared up for Hot August Nights.

Check them out. Then get back here soon to see more photos of the fun!
