Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial start of summer. It’s a time for cookouts, picnics, and family gatherings. And for many of us, we simply look forward to the extra day off from work the holiday brings.

But we can never forget the real reason for Memorial Day.

Here at OnAllCylinders, we won’t.

Memorial Day is a time to remember fallen heroes, thank our military veterans, honor current servicemen and women, and reflect on the sacrifice every one of them have made.

This weekend, we’ll commemorate Memorial Day in our own special way—with military-related automotive posts. After all, World War II veterans were a driving force behind the original hot rod movement after they returned home from their service. Veterans have not only protected the freedom that allows us to enjoy our hobby, they’ve also laid the groundwork for the hobby and continue to be a huge part of the hot rodding community.

Summit Racing—and by extension, OnAllCylinders—maintains a special bond with our veterans and military members. Check out some of our friends below and look for more posts throughout the weekend.

And thanks again, vets and military!
